Thank you for scheduling a surgery at Lexington Pet Clinic!
Below is information of what to expect for your pet’s surgery. Our staff is experienced in surgery and is proud to offer up-to-date anesthetic drugs, monitoring equipment, and pain control. It is important for you to know that we have some additional options available at Lexington Pet Clinic to ensure your pet has the safest and most comfortable surgery possible.
Pre-anesthetic Blood Testing: In order to ensure your pet does not have any underlying medical problems that may increase their risk of complications during the procedure, we strongly recommend blood testing prior to giving any anesthetic drugs. This also provides beneficial baseline health information for your pet. We have two options available, generally based on your pet’s age. Any previous medical conditions may change our recommendations, so be sure to let us know your pet’s medical history and any problems with littermates/parents you may be aware of.
Pets under 5 years of age: Basic pre-anesthetic blood profile is $89
Pets of any age: Comprehensive pre-anesthetic blood profile is $131.50
Microchip with Registration: If you are considering microchipping your pet, this is the best time to do it! A microchip is the best way to ensure return of your pet if he/she is lost or stolen. If you’re on the fence about it, please check out our microchip information page. The additional cost is $60.
Please consider these options and call us if you have any questions. One of our knowledgeable technicians can discuss these options with you when you check your pet in for surgery. A veterinarian will be available if you have more specific questions or concerns.
